day 19.

my brother says he's not shaving until the new year.
i'm interested to see what he will look like with legit scruff.

day 18.

the boys are very excited about christmas. they are still at that bright eyed stage where christmas eve means santa is coming and with santa comes presents. therefore, they want everything to be perfect and cheery and fun. the other night, they decided to set up a little table with 'free samples' on it so that when people came over, they could have a candy cane.
i love their excitement about life.

day 17.

every friday we each get one little yoohoo to drink at any time that we choose throughout the day. its just a silly little thing, but we all look forward to "yoohoo fridays"!

day 16.

i love freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
just about as much as i love eating the chocolate chip cookie dough.

day 15.

okay, so texas has the creepiest birds i've ever experienced in my life.
they fly in the biggest flocks EVER (we're talking HUNDREDS) and conjugate in highly trafficked areas. they aren't afraid of people and sometimes there are so many of them on the telephone pole wires that you can't even see the wires.
every time i see them, i hear the psycho music in my head and envision alfred-hitchcock-like thing happening to me.

day 14.

on monday, boo's frog 'damock' and cc's frog 'sophie' died. we think its because of the really disgusting water here because they both died at the same time.
boo was pretty upset, so we had a proper funeral for them. we sang amazing grace and everything.
it was a beautiful service.

day 13.

if there is something i can always make time for in my life, its reading.
i love to read. anything and everything.
stardust is the book i'm currently working on. as one of my favorite movies, i figured i'd like the book as well. so far, i have.
i love to read.

day 12.

boo has a collection of nativities that we put out every christmas season. he has them from all over the place. every year he gets a new one. its fun to see what each new nativity looks like every year. i love watching him set them up each year. he has a very specific and precise way of doing it. they always look spectacular.

day 11.

boo had a pack meeting tonight. even though i think a lot of the things they do are cheesy, i love seeing him having a good time with other kids his age and learning life skills that will help him later in life.

day 10.

tonight we celebrated the christmas season by going to a local church and participating in their nativity event. inside the gym of the church there were hundreds of nativities set up. it was so awesome to see all the different kinds of nativities from all over the world and from all different types of religions.
i love when people pull together to make something wonderful like this happen no matter what their race, religion, or political belief.

day 9.

we ate at chic-fil-a today.
it was mine and the boys' first time there. we decided we quite liked it. the boys especially liked playing on their playground.
even though i think those things are the epitome of disgusting, nothing beats their smiles and laughter as they play with each other. guess i can let it slide this time.

day 8.

okay, i love breakfast foods. LOVE them.
i could eat breakfast for ever meal.
just looking at this sandwich makes me want another one.
yum.

day 7.

we decorated our tree tonight.
one of my favorite ornaments is the sock monkey ornament my sister gave to me years ago.

i also love the 1960's editing tool with which i used to edit this photo!

day 6.

christmas time is here.
i love the holiday season. any holiday really.
but i guess there is just something about christmas that lights up the faces of everyone and instills in us a childlike excitement for life.

day 5.

i LOVE crafting. there is a very strong need in me to constantly be creative.
yesterday i caught the creative bug again and so i sat down and made myself a head band!
yay for being creative, right?

day 4.

this is our [sad] christmas lights display.
we've moved so many times over the years that its been hard to hold on to all of our lights. (in the last 3 years we've had christmas in 3 different houses. this year will be house number 4.)
the boys were excited about it though. that's what counts, right?

day 3.

thursday we ran out of breakfast foods and didn't have time to get more before friday.
friday morning we all woke up to find cereal, bagels, bread and bananas on the counter with a note from our dad. (the rose was for mom.) today, i love my dad's constant thoughtfulness for his family.
what a neat guy.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

day 2.

i love this little guy.
he has the biggest most active imagination i've ever seen on a child.
today, he had his face painted brown so that he could be a villian from batman named clayface.

what a surprise it was when 'clayface' offered to do the dishes!

kids are great, aren't they?
(obviously 'clayface' didn't want to have is photo taken...)

day 1.

i'm so glad to finally have this blog up and running.
it would have been nice to have done it when i wanted to, but i wanted to be able to do it right, thus the putting it off until now.
so, without further ado, i bring you, day 1:

today, i love the dallas weather.
its december and it hasn't dropped below 50 degrees.
the sun shines daily and you can actually feel its warmth.
guess i don't need to get out my winter clothes after all.
marvelous.
