day 18.

the boys are very excited about christmas. they are still at that bright eyed stage where christmas eve means santa is coming and with santa comes presents. therefore, they want everything to be perfect and cheery and fun. the other night, they decided to set up a little table with 'free samples' on it so that when people came over, they could have a candy cane.
i love their excitement about life.

day 12.

boo has a collection of nativities that we put out every christmas season. he has them from all over the place. every year he gets a new one. its fun to see what each new nativity looks like every year. i love watching him set them up each year. he has a very specific and precise way of doing it. they always look spectacular.

day 10.

tonight we celebrated the christmas season by going to a local church and participating in their nativity event. inside the gym of the church there were hundreds of nativities set up. it was so awesome to see all the different kinds of nativities from all over the world and from all different types of religions.
i love when people pull together to make something wonderful like this happen no matter what their race, religion, or political belief.

day 7.

we decorated our tree tonight.
one of my favorite ornaments is the sock monkey ornament my sister gave to me years ago.

i also love the 1960's editing tool with which i used to edit this photo!

day 6.

christmas time is here.
i love the holiday season. any holiday really.
but i guess there is just something about christmas that lights up the faces of everyone and instills in us a childlike excitement for life.

day 4.

this is our [sad] christmas lights display.
we've moved so many times over the years that its been hard to hold on to all of our lights. (in the last 3 years we've had christmas in 3 different houses. this year will be house number 4.)
the boys were excited about it though. that's what counts, right?
